나의 첫 출근 : My first week at Supertext

안녕하세요! I am Yujeong Cho, from South Korea. I started working at Supertext last Tuesday as an IAESTE intern, and already a week has flown by. Before I came here, I had been in Denmark for one semester as an exchange student. It is hard to find an opportunity to come to Europe from Korea, so I took advantage of my time in Denmark to travel all over Europe. I’ve visited nearly ten countries in the last 6 months, so now it is time to settle down and work!

I have never worked in a company before, so I was really nervous when I first visited Supertext a few days before my first workday. Based on what I had heard from others about offices in Korea, I was expecting a somewhat stiff and strict atmosphere. But it was the opposite of what I had expected. I found that the atmosphere at Supertext is very lively, and everybody is warm and friendly. Also I really liked the office itself, spacious and with a great view. One of the things I liked the most is the dual monitor, it is great for coding.

My first work started off with introduction manuals to ASP.NET, C# and MySQL. Right now I am working on extending the Company Performance, a part of the Performance page in supertext.ch, so that it displays more detailed information. I am not used to Windows programming, and I do not have that much experience in web programming, so there was a lot to get used to. But it is fun, learning new concepts and breaking in to new languages. Also it is really exciting that the codes I write will actually be used to change the Supertext webpage; it isn’t a school project. I want to learn and try many things during my time here!
