Mit einem Computer-Profi als Co-Founder haben wir von der ersten Stunde an auf Technologie gesetzt. Bei uns ist IT nicht eine Kostenstelle, sondern zentral für unseren Erfolg. Wir sind das einzige Übersetzungsbüro in der Schweiz mit einer eigenen Entwicklungsabteilung.
Ursprünglich haben wir unser System auf ASP.NET Webforms mit einem MySQL Server aufgebaut. Die meisten Seiten haben wir in der Zwischenzeit auf MVC mit einem REST Backend umgebaut.
Wir konvertieren unser System in den nächsten paar Wochen auf Azure und wechseln von MySQL auf Azure SQL und Blob-Storage.
Unsere App sorgt für alles: Bestellprozesse, Management der Übersetzungsjobs, CRM, Rechnungswesen etc. Wir haben drei Portale: Unser Admin-System, das Kunden- und das Freelancerportal. Ein Terminologie-Tool ist im Beta-Test und weitere Features folgen im Zwei-Wochen-Takt. Mit Ausnahme des Admin-Teils ist alles mit Bootstrap Responsive implementiert.
Unser Code wird mit TFS Online verwaltet und wir arbeiten an einem verbesserten Deploy-Mechanismus für Azure.
Das bist du:
Programmieren ist für dich kein 9-to-5-Job, sondern deine Berufung. Neue Technologien sind dir nicht ein Graus, sondern eine Herausforderung, die du suchst. Wenn du SCRUM hörst, denkst du nicht an Scum und gegen Microsoft-Technologien hast du keine Abneigung.
Das wirst du tun:
- Frontend-Entwicklung mit HTML, CSS (LESS), jQuery, Knockout und vielleicht AngularJS (inklusive GUI und Usability-Design)
- Backend mit ASP.NET MVC in C# auf Azure
- REST API mit ASP.NET Web API
- NUnit (z. T. auch mit Browserstack) für alle deine Methoden
- Azure SQL Entwicklung und Wartung
- Vereinzelte Kundenprojekte (CMS-Export, Dateiformat-Umwandlungen etc.)
- Kleine Desktop-Tools und Scripts
- IT-Support für Mitarbeiter (wird mit den anderen zwei IT-Guys geteilt)
Das bringst du mit:
Mit Vorteil Kenntnisse von ASP.NET in C# mit WebForms und MVC. Aber wenn du ein Web-Crack bist, passt auch Phyton, Java oder PHP.
Kenntnisse von Javascript und jQuery sind ein Plus. AngularJS und Knockout-Wissen schadet auch nicht.

We’re looking for an ASP.NET Developer
Since we last sought a new developer back in 2012 to aid our plans for world domination, our team has grown to twice its size, so we must be doings things right.
Our plans are now accelerating and we intend to bolster our team with another .NET or Java web developer.
What’s Supertext all about?
Supertext is the first online copywriting and translation agency. We are one of the largest translation agencies in German-speaking Switzerland. Our motto is: we’ll put in a good word for our customers. We write, edit, translate and proofread copy in German, French, Italian, English and more than 30 other languages. We’ve penned texts for the websites of Swiss, Ovomaltine, Ochsner Sport, Zweifel and Swissmilk, and more than 2,500 customers trust us with their translations.
With an IT professional as a co-founder, we were focused on technology from the very start. At Supertext, IT is not a cost-centre – it’s core to our success: we are the only translation agency in Switzerland with its own software development department.
Originally we built our system on ASP.NET Webforms with a MySQL database. Over the last couple of years we’ve rebuilt a large part of this using MVC with a REST back-end.
In the short-term future we will be converting our system to run on Azure and migrating from MySQL to Azure SQL and blob storage.
Our web application provides everything for a smooth workflow: placing orders, managing projects, CRM, accounting, etc. We have three portals: for our clients, freelancers and internal administration. A terminology tool is in beta testing and new features are added every few weeks. With the exception of the administration portal, all webpages are responsive and much of our data is retrieved using RESTful APIs.
Our code is managed with TFS online and we are working on an improved deployment mechanism for Azure.
What are you all about?
Programming isn’t a 9-to-5 job but your calling in life. New technologies present an opportunity and a challenge, rather than striking fear into you. When you hear SCRUM you don’t think of ’scum‘. And in particular, you’re keen to develop on the Microsoft stack.
What’s the job all about?
- Front-end development with HTML, CSS (LESS), jQuery as well as native JavaScript, Knockout and perhaps AngularJS (including GUI and usability design)
- ASP.NET MVC back-end written in C# and running on Azure
- RESTful services via ASP.NET Web API
- NUnit (e.g. with Browserstack) for all your methods

- Occasional customer projects (CMS exporting, file-format converting, etc.)

What’s your background then?
Experience and knowledge of ASP.NET in C# with WebForms and MVC. But if you’re a crack Python, Java or PHP developer and are interested, let’s talk.
Good knowledge of JavaScript and jQuery is expected, and AngularJS and Knockout knowledge is a bonus.
