Forza Supertext! Diego Mosca takes over operational management of our Berlin office

Diego Mosca is the new Chief Operating Officer of Supertext Deutschland. An Italian by birth and a Berliner by choice, he knows the language industry like the back of his hand. As a certified translator, language coordinator and sales manager, he’s worked in Spain, Poland, Italy and Germany. And he’s always got seven different phrasebooks and a volleyball kit along for the ride.

2020 is off to a strong start at Dudenstrasse, with Diego Mosca taking over the operational management of the Berlin Supertext office. Founded in Switzerland, the company opened a branch in the German capital in 2014. It now has more than 30 in-house staff busily copywriting, translating, proofreading and editing – and that number continues to rise.

On the go in seven languages

Diego Mosca (35) is well-prepared for his role as Supertext’s COO. He grew up in Italy, studied German, Spanish and Romanian, and also speaks English and French – plus, he’s currently learning Polish and Slovakian. Before he joined Supertext as a language manager, he worked as an officially certified translator and as a language coordinator for the European Parliament.

His passion for politics and language led him to translate a novel dealing with the refugee crisis in 2017. In 2019, he joined the Supertext sales team with the aim of shaping the company’s future and engaging directly with clients. Now, he’ll be leading the entire office.

“Ich bin ein Language Nerd”

“For me, what makes Supertext unique is our concept,” says Diego. “Each client has a dedicated project manager and language manager to support them. I’m totally committed to this way of working, because I know it allows us to achieve super quality. And that’s important to me – after all, ich bin ein Language Nerd.”

And Diego is just as passionate about Berlin. For him, living in the multicultural capital means coming into constant contact with different realities: from expats to born-and-raised Berliners, and from startups to large corporations. “It’s this mix that makes Berlin such a unique location.”

Focus on multinationals and startups with global ambitions

“Our clients are globally oriented companies of all sizes. We help them to find their voice in every language. And to do so, we collaborate with more than 2,000 translation professionals from all around the world. Teamwork is essential to what we do.”

And Diego has plenty of experience with teamwork: “I’ve been playing volleyball my entire life – I even spent three years playing professionally. No matter which city I lived in, I’d always find a team and take part in tournaments.” As Supertext Deutschland’s new COO, he’ll once again be leading a dynamic team – and is already on the hunt for new members.
