Queuing outside that perfect city center apartment, shaking hands with the realtor, rubbing elbows with other visitors as you inspect the rooms… the coronavirus pandemic has made traditional house hunting impossible. However, it hasn’t decreased the demand for property from buyers and renters: leading Swiss real estate marketplace Homegate is still registering nine million visitors to its website every month. The company has responded with a digital initiative led by a cross-functional team. And it got off the ground within just a few days.
Remote viewings. Or visites. Or Besichtigungen.
Since April, prospective buyers and tenants have been able to choose between a 3D tour, a tour available at any time, and a live viewing. During live viewings, the owner or realtor is on site and presents the property using a third-party video app. Multiple people can view the tour simultaneously if required, and it is available directly via the website – no need to log in or download any new software. Viewers can ask questions about the property using the live chat.
Supertext supported Homegate with the multilingual communication required for its new digital service, with language teams for English, French and Italian. And, of course, experienced real estate translators working on all the texts needed for the virtual tours, from landing pages and factsheets through to customer newsletters, blogposts and press releases. They’re creating long-term value for the whole of Switzerland – the feature will remain available after the pandemic, and will be continuously upgraded.
“We can rely on Supertext – even in exceptional circumstances”
The Homegate team also regularly relies on Supertext for marketing translations. A client-specific translation memory speeds up the process: many years of collaboration between the two companies mean that it’s wide-ranging and constantly growing. This enables faster, cheaper and more consistent translations – and reliably high quality.
“We are very happy with Supertext. We particularly appreciate the fact that we can rely on prompt delivery and often even receive translations early. This lets us plan effectively, even during busy periods. We also value the simple, user-friendly online portal.”
