A sustainable solution in 17 languages: Supertext supports TESVOLT’s global energy transformation

How can you deliver solar, wind and hydropower to plug sockets at precisely the moment they’re required? The answer: with TESVOLT’s innovative storage solutions. And they’re now available in 17 languages thanks to Supertext.

More than 500 years after Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of All Saints’ Church, Wittenberg has produced another world-changing innovation. This time it’s TESVOLT, the startup success story founded in 2014 to solve the biggest challenge of the energy transformation: how can we make renewable energy available to industry and trade on a just-in-time basis?

TESVOLT received the Deutscher Gründerpreis (German Founder’s Prize) for its innovative battery storage systems, and now distributes its products across the world. In 2019, the company turned to Supertext for support with its global expansion.

Wanted: storage, flexibility and speed

The concept behind TESVOLT’s products is simple: battery storage systems prevent instability, earn money and provide emergency power in the event of a network disruption.

And the company’s requirements for its translation partner were similar: reliable storage and swift recall of specialist terminology and previous translations, expertise in as many languages as possible, and the speed and flexibility needed to turbocharge TESVOLT’s international expansion.

Found: 50 specialist translators, translation memories and termbases

From datasheets and operating instructions to use cases, TESVOLT’s texts use a lot of technical language. Its specialist terminology requires a systematic approach and expert linguists with experience in this area.

Supertext dived into its pool of more than 2,000 native-language linguists to find the right 50 (and counting!) for the job. The team has already handled more than 200 orders in 17 languages, from English and Spanish to Finnish. Having offices in multiple time zones offers an additional advantage when it comes to completing express orders in under 24 hours.

Supertext’s linguists can also rely on a variety of technological aids. At the start of the project, TESVOLT provided Supertext with an eight-language glossary. This formed the basis for a terminology database (termbase) which ensures that specialist terminology is always consistent and correct. In addition, every completed project is stored in the TESVOLT translation memory, which translators can then refer to during subsequent projects.

And because Supertext speaks more than 100 languages, it’s the perfect partner to make TESVOLT’s vision a reality: bringing clean, affordable energy to every corner of the Earth.
